Permanent Trails (PT) and Bike Events (R) are self-guided walks/rides that are in place over a fixed period of time at a specific location. You are welcome to do these walks on your own at any time. In addition, group walks of Permanent Trails occur throughout the year – for more information on dates and times check with the walk contact or on the Club’s website.
Seasonal events are those that can only be done in milder weather, often late spring and through the summer. The exact dates can vary, so be sure to doublecheck the date of any Seasonal event before starting out.

Many of these PTs have a physical location with a walk box that you can use to self register for the walk. Some PTs do not have a walk box and require online registration. These are highlighted in green.
If the organizer of the PT is a club, the club website will provide details of how to register. Many of the online registration PTs are organized by VABC (shown as CVF British Columbia Director in the list of PTs). Click Online PTs at the top of this page for details on how to register for these walks and how to download the walk instructions and maps.
Dogs are permitted on all walks unless otherwise stated in walk information.
Notice to ALL walkers doing CVF walks in ANY part of Canada: The Canadian Volkssport Federation will not accept liability for medical expenses due to accident while doing any of our sponsored walks. The CVF HIGHLY recommends that Canadians and non-Canadians have proper and adequate medical insurance when they do a walk out of their home province, or arrive from another country.
