Okanagan Volkssport Walkers

Welcome to Canada’s newest Volkssport Walking Club! We are a group of people, of all ages, who enjoy the great outdoors while getting fit. We love meeting new people and building new friendships. There is always an optional coffee or meal break after our walks and we are planning several social events throughout the year.

Our walks will take you to all communities touching Okanagan Lake, along trails that have been curated for you. You will experience different types of walks that include: Event Walks, Guided Walks, Map Walks and Permanent Trails. Our walks offer a variety of lengths between 5 or 10 km on a regular basis. As part of the Canadian Volkssport Federation, you will have the opportunity to take part in optional walking challenges and attend various Walking Festivals across our country.

Permanent Trails

OVWC has two PT’s:
1. PT 178 Kelowna City Park: This route begins in Kelowna City Park and takes you through a heritage neighbourhood and waterfront properties to a bird sanctuary. The second half of the route is a beautiful stroll through the downtown waterfront and the Arts and Cultural District.
2. PT 191 Mission Creek:  A good gravel linear trail within Mission Creek Regional Park following the creek and kokanee spawning channel. Washrooms and trails accessible year-round.

You are welcome to do these walks on your own at anytime. There is no walk box for either PT. Contact the club @okanaganwalks@gmail.com for more information.
