“The trails are calling and I must go”

A warm welcome to all of you who are interested in healthy, noncompetitive outdoor activities, especially walking in the great outdoors.

As you explore our website, you will learn about the many opportunities volkssporting offers. Please check out our member clubs, who would love to have you join them on a walk.

A Message from Beverley Cattrall, President – Volkssport Association of British Columbia

Welcome to VABC’s website. I hope you find the information you need, but if you have more questions, please send me an email. My address is shown below.

The last several years have been quite unusual, so it’s very good that we have been able to resume our normal activities, especially walking in groups. The Penticton Walking Festival last May was a great success, as were the Island walks, and all the other events organized by our BC clubs. And, thanks to our committed volunteers, we have so many exciting events to look forward to 2023.

It is my hope to meet many of you over the coming months. In the meantime, stay safe – and keep walking!

BC Special Walking Programs
These two BC special walking programs have been revamped and updated. The Walk with BC Clubs program is a great way to meet walkers in other clubs, and the Walk BC PT Challenge is a wonderful way to explore BC. You can find all the details and downloadable challenge forms on the Special Walking Programs page.

There are now two new PTs in British Columbia – both on Pender Island. PT294 starts and ends at the Otter Bay Ferry Terminal so you do not need a car on the island. PT295 starts and ends at the Poets Cove Resort. This is a 16 km drive from the ferry so you will need a car to do this one. For more information look under ‘Online PTs’
